Common Roku problems and how to fix them

Device setup or activation

Connect to Wi-Fi and enter the on-screen code at roku.com/link; a free Roku account is required. Never pay an 'activation fee' — Roku activation is free.

Remote won't pair

Reinsert the batteries, then hold the pairing button in the battery compartment for 5 seconds; restart from Settings → System → Power.

Channel won't install or open

Restart the device, remove and re-add the channel, and check Settings → System → Software update.

Billing or subscription

Manage channel subscriptions under Settings → Payment method or at my.roku.com; cancel there to stop renewals.

Wi-Fi or connectivity issues

Move the device closer to the router or use a wired adapter; run Settings → Network → Check connection.
